ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES 4005

TOPIC STATEMENT
a. Vision  North Oldham High School offers Advanced Placement courses of elevated rigor, pace, and depth to those high school students who demand more of their classroom experience.  Successful navigation of AP courses requires students to demonstrate content mastery; evidenced through intentional reading, analytical thought, and synthesis skills fostered through the College Board curriculum.  Our AP courses' common goal is to ensure that all AP students are given every opportunity to be fully prepared to pass their AP exams.
b. Application Students must complete the application process which details course requirements, pre-requisites and procedures for admission.
c. AP exam Oldham County Board of Education policy pertaining to AP courses states that students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses are expected to take the AP exam to receive the weighted GPA and to have the AP designations appear on the transcript.
d. Exam fee The AP exam fee must be paid at registration for each course in which the student is enrolled.
e. College credit College credit is usually granted by the admitting institution for AP exam scores of 3 or higher.  This credit is transferable to most colleges.  It is recommended that you check the website of the college where you plan to attend to determine how this credit will be transferred.
