AP Chemistry

The AP Chemistry course follows the curriculum established by the College Board and prepares students to take the Advanced Placement exam in chemistry, a requirement of this course.  It provides students with a college-level foundation to support future advanced coursework in chemistry and is equivalent to a general chemistry course that a student usually takes during their first year of college.  Students cultivate their understanding of chemistry through inquiry-based investigations, as they explore topics such as: atomic structure, intermolecular forces and bonding, chemical reactions, kinetics, thermodynamics, and equilibrium. Twenty five percent of the instructional time is devoted to inquiry based laboratory experiments.
