EXTENDED SCHOOL SERVICES 4003

TOPIC STATEMENT
a. Purpose/Description North Oldham High School recognizes that all students achieve at varying degrees of proficiency.  Therefore, to meet the needs of all students, Extended School Services are available for additional opportunities to learn and be successful.  The availability of ESS is dependent upon the availability of state funding limitations.  The administration will develop procedures regarding description of courses and selection of students to implement this policy.
b. Eligibility/Requirements Students are identified/recommended for eligibility by classroom teachers or parents and are strongly encouraged to attend ESS sessions.  
c. Stipend     Teachers will be paid an hourly rate based upon the OCBE pay schedule.

School Day, Before and/or 
After School Programs

TOPIC STATEMENT
a.   Eligibility NOHS students are selected for the ESS program based upon teacher or parent referrals or student self-referral when grades or performance in class are not meeting expectations.
b.   Scheduling Scheduling for the ESS program is based upon the number of students identified, available staff and funding.  Every effort is made to have the students attend an ESS session offered by their regular teacher.  All ESS teachers are certified in the subject they teach during ESS classes.

Saturday School

TOPIC STATEMENT
a.  Eligibility NOHS students are assigned Saturday School to make up class time they have missed due to absences, or when failing a class.
b.  Scheduling The NOHS Principal or Assistant Principal will assign students to Saturday School.  A teacher will be paid the regular ESS stipend (but not the additional planning time stipend) to monitor students.
